Data Fabric – Messaging Layer

The Tervela Data Fabric connects to your applications through the Tervela Client API, which exposes a number of interfaces, chief among them the messaging interface. This interface is how client applications put data on the fabric and retrieve data from it.

Optimized for Application Networks

Tervela's messaging system shares some similarities with traditional messaging or middleware frameworks, however there are key differences. Most importantly, Tervela's messaging interface is optimized for multi-application systems, where data sources and data consumers exist on the same fabric with only limited knowledge of each other. Tervela exposes a number of key controls through its APIs and through its administrive console so that it's very easy for you to write new applications that plug into the fabric.

Local Simplicity, Global Scalabiility

Tervela's messaging framework can scale from a couple of applications in a single data center to many applications, sharing many different data streams, distributed across the globe. The fabric itself contains everything you need to ensure that even at this massive scale, data integrity is preserved, network connections are completely fault-tolerant, data is transported at extremely fast rates, security is protected, and your application doesn't need to change.

Messaging Capabilities

The Tervela Data Fabric supports the following messaging capabilities:

  • Topic Configuration
  • Subscription Quality-of-Service Management
  • Entitlement Control
  • API Authentication
  • Protocol Transformation
  • Role Management
  • Multicast Assignment
