Embedded Storage in the Fabric

The TPE-500 is a storage engine that is embedded in the data fabric and optimized for message persistence and retrieval. It is an instrumental part of ensuring that messages are not lost, even under extreme volumes and bursting patterns. By providing persistence services for messages directly in the data fabric, the TPE-500 meets a variety of business requirements ranging from scalability to performance to compliance.

Features

The TPE-500 Persistence Engine captures and stores all traffic on the fabric to ensure reliability, handle bursts of traffic, and ensure that application performance is not impacted by network activity.

Extensible Capacity

Under continuous conditions of at least 500,000 messages per second and simultanous replay, the TPE-500 can store several days of critical messaging information, leaving ample time for subsequent processing and archival. Multiple TPE-500 persistence engines can be aggregated to provide additional storage.

High-Performance Networking

The TPE-500 works with Tervela's TMX-500 Message Switch over a high-performance Gigabit Ethernet or Inifiniband connection to ensure that publishers and subscribers always have seamless access to persisted messaging information.

Optimized Storage & Retrieval

Traditional database technology can't perform at the level required by a modern Data Fabric. The TPE-500 has an optimized message storage and retrieval system designed exclusively the high-performance, low-latency Data Fabric environment.

Playback Options

The TPE-500 provides a rich set of options for data playback: topic string (itemized or wildcard); delimited time; unique message sequence (itemized or ranged); and message source (itemized or wildcard).

Configurable Recording

Specify exactly how you want the TPE-500 to record and store topics, messages, and data, letting you meet varying needs of different applications and data streams for compliance, reliability, or workflow through a single device platform.

Concurrent Archival and Playback

You don't have to shut your data fabric down just to manage it. The TPE-500 lets you simultaneously archive new information while playing recorded information back. 

High Availability

The TPE-500 is engineered for resiliance and high-availability, ensuring no-loss data transport. Its storage subsystem supports RAID, allowing the system to continue operating seamlessly in the event of a drive failure. The TPE-500 contains four hot-swappable power supplies in an N+1 configuration. Additional TPE-500s can be added to ensure fail-proof redundancy.
